The recent patch on June 11th included some mission balance changes aimed at increasing win rates. This was successful, boosting rank 1 win rates from 5% to 13%.

This is still much lower than where I think it needs to be. While I could address this by nerfing missions further I instead want to give the players more tools to power up and mitigate RNG, because that’s more fun!

With that in mind I’ve been working on a rework of the money and tech systems. The net effect is that you can afford 5-7 technologies per run instead of 3-4:

  • Doubled the money reward for mini-boss and boss missions.

  • Added 5k to the money reward for all non-boss missions.

  • Researching a technology now increases the price of future tech by 10k (down from 25k).

And, since the tech pool in the demo was just big enough to support 3-4 options being purchased, I’ve added a few more technologies:

  • Hyperburst Lasers

  • Efficient Shipping Network

  • Portable Generators

  • Repair Drones
